Why cant I find a way to double click to activate a data update via n excel plug in

    HI

I need to physically carry out the action of "Double Clicking" a cell which then activates the update of data coming in via an excel plug in. How can I do this without carrying out the physical action. I have tried the Double Click application, it does not work. I know it can be done but I have not found the way to do it.

The double click is sheet specific.

If you are trying to make it do something complicated then you need to use the double click to launch your application.

rightclick on your sheet name at the bottom of excel

    select view code

paste this code into the window that opens.

    insert your addin name
    close the window

    now double click.

    Re: application.doubleclick not working

It appears to work on an object in a worksheet, such as a button, or wordart.
Physically double clicking an object you get to edit text of that object, but using the Doubleclick application you get into the format object window.

My conclusion is that the DoubleClick Application is not equivalent to physically double clicking an object.

    Check out the attached.
Physically Double click the objects and A1
Then use the Buttons to Use the DoubleClick Application and notice the different results.
