Hi,
I have several cells in my spreadsheet A which are linked to cells in another spreadsheet B in the same workbook. My problem is that the cells in spreadsheet A only display the link formula in the cell and not the value of the cell in spreadsheet B which it is linked. I have several other cells in spreadsheet A that are linked to cells in spreadsheet B and they display the values correctly. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? Thanks!

Check to see if the cell is formatted as text? If so, change the the format you want, press F2 and enter

I believe the problem is with the excel portion of the spreadsheet and not so much the VBA. Do I just attached the whole
Excel file?

Depending on the size, you may wish to attach the whole file or just a section that has the issue.
I have attached the excel workbook I am having trouble with. If you look at the worksheet titles PT Monthly Report-1 you
will find my problem at the top in the boxes for resident number and room number. Note that this cells show the link to the cells on the medicare tracker worksheet but not the actual value of the cells. Your help is much appreciated.

I just clicked in the formula bar where the cell reference formula is and hit return and the formula worked.....for both instances. I can't tell what the problem was.

Thanks for your help. It worked for me too. Do you have any idea why I would have to type the code in manually. Initially I just clicked on the various tabs and cells and that would work.

I am having the same problem again but this time its with the Patient name cell on the PT Monthly Report-1 worksheet. The information was correct in that cell but later I noticed it had changed just like the other two cells had changed. All I was doing was working on a user form and trying to debug it in VBA. I am new to much of this and appreciate your help. I have attached the same workbook but with the new problem. Thanks

The cell in question is formatted as TEXT. Select the cell and change the formatting to GENERAL and re-enter the formula by clicking in the formula bar and hitting enter.
Thanks it worked, so am I to assume that I should format the cells as general when I am pulling their value from another cell?

Correct.
Don't format cells as TEXT unless you have a specific need to. Leave them as General and only change as required.
