Compare text values between two columns

In Col A, I have a list of projects that were created and due last week, while in Col B, I have a list of projects that are created and due this week but may contain some projects from last week that were not completed in the scheduled time.

I'm looking for a method with which I can compare the records in Col A with Col B and get a list of unique projects that were created only this week or vice versa. This way I can get an idea of how many projects from last week were left incomplete.

I am aware that usually VLOOKUP function would be useful in these cases, but what if the same record in Col A is in a different row in Col B. Example:

Will VLOOKUP still be effective or is there any other method to achieve this?
