    How to chose cell with Lower value

    If

    Cell A1 has a value of 130
    Cell A2 has a value of 150

    how do I write a formula to put the lowest value in cell A3?

    =A1 if Cell value is lower than A2, if not A3? I'm stumped.

    hi there laforce. do you mean:
    =A1 if Cell value is lower than A2, if not A2
    if you want the result in A3, you cannot refer to A3 itself

    maybe:
    =MIN(A1:A2)

    The formula in cell A3:
    =MIN(A1:A2)
