Angle of view & Centre line

    Hi,

Can you help - please see attached image

    Yellow Dot grid co-ordinate = 540000,320000
    Pink Dot =545000, 320000
    Green Dot = 544499, 317775

I would like a way of calculating the angle of the view Red lines.

Also the grid co-ordinate that is centre of the two points (Pink / Green Dot)

I would have 45 + of these calculation to do at a time,

    Cheers

    Hi,

    Does the attached help.

I've shown the workings to get to the C10 result and also the same C12 result using the original co-ordinates.

Re: Angle of view & Centre line

    Hi Richard,

Thank you for your quick response - The only problem is if the Pink & Green dots are in different quarters it will not calculate - so if Pink dot and green dot are in area from zero degrees to 89.9 degrees it will calculate or any of the other quarters of the compass, if one dot goes over to the next quarter eg 90 to 180 degrees we have a problem. also I forgot to mention the RED x is centre of the angle and I would like this to be calculated. Hope all this makes sense thanks again for your input,

    Cheers

    Hi,

If I understand your follow up then you just need to wrap the formula in an ABS() function so that it always shows as a positive. The maths are still the same.

However I don't understand what you mean when you say the red dot is the centre of the angle. Are you saying you want to calculate the yellow/red/green dot angle?

    Hi,

If it is indeed the yellow/red/green angle you want then see attached

Re: Angle of view & Centre line

    Hi

Again thanks for reply - wrap formula is not something I understand - but the RED X will allways be centre of the angle between the pink dot and the green dot so I just need the co - ordinate of the RED X (by eye on the map this should be around 544780, 318892),

    Cheers
