Compare Price Lists for New, Existing and Discontinued

HELP: Where would I go for this solution?

When it is time to renew my Item pricing in QuickBooks, I always export to Excel. I will paste a copy of the old price list below it and compare them - very manual for 9000 items. There must be a better way!!

I need an easy way to compare the old Price List and the new Price List whereby a) a match of the new and old SKU would indicate that SKU is still Active b) a mismatch would indicate that SKU is either Discontinued on the old list or New on the new list c) the Active and New SKUs be captured in a new List with the new prices, ready for Import to QuickBooks.

In the new price list, add a column called "OLD SKU" the use VLOOKUP in the new column to find the SKU in the old price list workbook. Any that do not exist in the old price list will have #N/A as the result. You can also use this method to compare other columns like prices.

You will fine excellent help on VLOOKUP in Excel's help system.

If you attach a sample of your workbook it will be easier to find a solution. Remember to remove/replace sensitive data before uploading the file. Look here if you need help with attachments:
