Conditional Formatting - highlighting until values are filled in

    Hi there,
I'm trying to do a spreadsheet that uses Conditional Formatting to display coloured cells for certain values.

The rules I need it to display are:

If B9 says 1 Day, 2 Day or Season Pass then C9 and D9 are highlighted
Once 1 Day, 2 Day or Season Pass has been enter into C9 or D9, then the other value goes blank
If 1 day or 2 day is entered into C9 then G9, H9, I9, J9 and L9 are highlighted until values are filled in
If 1 day or 2 day is entered into D9 then G9, H9, I9, J0 and K9 are highlighted until values are filled in
If Own is entered into C9 or D9 then only L9 is highlighted

I've attached the spreadsheet i'm working with.

If someone can help me it would be hugely helpful!!

    Thank you kindly in advance!!
    Hannah

    Hi Hannah

Please see attached for conditional formats as requested.

Most are a variant of the below formula

    =$C9="own"

Re: Conditional Formatting - highlighting until values are filled in

    Hi there jeversf,

Thanks heaps for your super fast reply!! I really appreciate it :-)

Some of the rules aren't working however...

    Like:
    * Once 1 Day, 2 Day or Season Pass has been enter into C9 or D9, then the other value (in C9 or D9)goes blank - both stay highlighted when a value is present

    * If 1 day or 2 day is entered into C9 then G9, H9, I9, J9 and L9 are highlighted until values are filled in
    * If 1 day or 2 day is entered into D9 then G9, H9, I9, J9 and K9 are highlighted until values are filled in
With both of these the whole line is highlighted instead of the required cells

If Own is entered into C9 or D9 then only L9 is highlighted - I stuffed up this one sorry. This should be:
If Own is entered into C9 then L9 should highlight
If Own in entered into D9 then K9 should highlight

With all of these, if there is a value recorded in there, then the cell can go back to being blank.

    So sorry about this!! :-(

Sorry about that Hannah, should have read it more carefully. The attached fix the remaining issues.

With regards to point 1, in order for one cell to clear itself depending on the value in another (C9 & D9), you'd have to physically delete the cells content. I've added a drop down list to both cells so you can select accordingly. Is this ok or would you prefer to not have the lists there?
