    Change a whole number and fraction in a cell to a whole number and decimal in another cell

    I have a whole number and fraction in a cell and I want a whole number and decimal in another cell.

    I think this is just a question of formatting, if you have your data in A1, e.g. 1 3/4 and you want to see that as 1.75 in B1 then just use this formula in B1

    =A1

    and format B1 as number or general

    Thanks guys its like this: 2 1/2 in cell B15 . in need it to show 2.5 in cell C15 Then i need a formular so that anytime i enter any whole and fraction in that B15 it changes in C15

    thanks Daddylonglegs, ive done as you instructed ,but i want B15 in mixed .whole and fraction ,but will like to C15 in whole and the fraction bit as decimal.
