Cutting and pasting Filtered Rows

I am trying to cut and paste some filtered rows from one spreadsheet in a workbook to another spreadsheet in the same workbook and tried the CMD, Shift Z for MAC, and then the cut function. On the paste or insert cut rows function I continue to get the hidden rows after the paste. I know I have successfully attempted this before but for reason it is not working today. By chance would it have anything to do with what type of excel extension I am using (e.g., xlsm, xlsb, xls, xltm etc.)? Can someone offer some insight into what I am doing wrong, I am using Excel 2016 for MAC?

Try copy and paste, not cut and paste.

Ok, but then how to I delete the visible rows from the worksheet I initially copied and pasted from without deleting the hidden rows?

Delete rows. This will only delete the filtered rows.

Thanks but it didn't work, the paste still brought over the hidden rows?

I just tried on windows and it works as expected.

When I use cut the marching ants are in a single rectangle shape over the filtered data (will include hidden rows).

When I use copy the marching ants are many rectangles over the data (excludes the hidden rows).

Yes I know that's what appears on the youtube videos also but I am just not getting the marching ants only an outllne around the entire area not each row ? Keep in mind, I am using Excel for MAC
