Why does my / behave like it's an Alt key?

    G'day mates.

I'm trying to enter /(insert number here) into my cells and suddenly I'm in the hotkeys menu?! It's super frustrating!

This is the only time I've ever encountered the / behaving like an Alt key.

Any clues, my dudes and dudettes?

    1. You're correct. it does behave as if it were the ALT key. It may be Excel version related...

    2. Please amend your profile to show your approximate (national is fine..) location, as mnay solutions depend on knowing roughly where you are.

To stop it doing so... Options/Advanced/Lotus compatability and clear the Microsoft Excel menu key box.

    You're a legend, Glenn.

Do you know why the / would behave as an Alt? I see no reason for it since there are already two on the board!

Yes, I shall update my location immediately.

Thank you once again for your help!!
