    IF statement

    The following IF statement isn't giving me the correct result
    =IF(AB3>="$500.00","MEMREFI","MEMNEW")
    Column AB has numbers both positive and negative. If the value in AB is >=$500 I want the result to be MEMREFI, and all I am getting is MEMNEW.

    Re: IF statement

    Hi cucjw,

    I'd bet it is the quote signs around the "$500.00". Try this one:
    =IF(AB3 >= 500 ,"MEMREFI","MEMNEW")
    One test is worth a thousand opinions.

    Re: IF statement

    hi cucjw, get rid of the "" & $ sign. that makes it a text instead of a value.
    =IF(AB3>=500,"MEMREFI","MEMNEW")

    Thanks, if you have clicked on the * and added our rep.
