Record macro -change settings where the macro is stored

    Hi,

When recording a macro, is there a setting to change the default where the macro is stored? I seem to have personal workbook as default and it would be much better if the default was this workbook. Where do i change this?

    /Masun

When you record a macro the dialog provides an option to store it in one of three locations.
Make sure you choose This Workbook before you choose OK to start recording....

Re: Record macro -change settings where the macro is stored

    Hi,

    Thanks for answering!

I know that I can choose where to store the macro. The default value when i record a macro is "Personal Macro Workbook", if i dont make any changes where to store the macro it gets stored there. I want the default value to be "This Workbook" instead. Is it possible to change that default value?

I'm not sure it you can *lock* the option permanently but Excel remembers the last option you select and will keep that selection until you change it again. So, if you change the setting to This Workbook, it will stay on This Workbook until you select another option again.
