    dropdown list using filters

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for taking the time to read this post, in short I am still working on a project tracking results. My main problem lies in the fact I have a main dropdown box in cell O5 regarding classes, other measures in cell Q5 which are also needed. I wish to have my main array of results change with whatever class is in cell O5, also could it be possible to change my array with what is also in cell Q5.

The only way I have managed so far is by doing filtering, vlookup and countifs but this is too long..i think this can be done in VBA Excel. Moreover if you double click on a cell that has a value of 1 or more then it will reveal the names of the individual.

I would be grateful for any advice or hep given.
Thank you again for taking the time to read this message.

You have had 30 views of your thread with no takers This tells me that members are having a hard time understanding what you want (I know I am). Perhaps it would help if you could provide a few samples of your expected outcome?

So I have the dropdown box request working for you, though perhaps a little clunky. I haven't had time to work on the msgbox portion based on the dropdown parameters, but at least this will hopefully get the matrix-update part of your request fixed.

(If I have time later tonight, I'll come back around and work on the msgbox.)

    Re: dropdown list using filters

Thank you for notifying me about this thread, my apologises for the late reply back. Initially I was wondering whether it was possible to filter a class from cell O5 using the dropdown menu, so my array only consists of results for a certain class like 8x1. Their data is on the DATA tab. I think this can be done in VBA.

    Example
    class: 8x1

Table array changes with people only taken from the class

If I was to double click on a cell that has a value of 1 or more it should reveal the names of these people.

As an extension I was thinking of doing another filter with the other measures also included. This could be in cell Q5, I know this is challenging but I have been using vlookup, countifs to filter my table of results in DATA tab,I am indeed grateful for everyone who has taken up their time to read my post.

Had a chance to come back around to this, and this should fix the msgbox to display only based on the dropdowns.

Hope that helps. If so, please mark this thread as solved.
