Insert various shapes to build a schedule

Please see attached for an example worksheet.

I am trying to build an automated quasi schedule that is based on inputs I provide.

In my example, cells B2:E9 are all inputs. Each row has a description on the event (e.g. Mtg 1) and corresponding dates. Some events need their starting point, mid point and finish tracked. But most simply need their finish point tracked.

The events and what dates need to be tracked will always be fixed. So in my example, Mtg 1 will never need it's starting point or mid point tracked and Doc 3 will always need its starting, mid and finish point tracked.

So what I'd like to do, is update the schedule at the bottom of the sheet automatically as the input range (B2:E9) is updated.

I realize the placement of the shapes isn't that precise with respect to dates (since the entire month is a very small cell), but I'd like it to be fairly represented. For instance, if the event is at the beginning of the month, then the shape would need to be closer to the left side of the cell, etc........

    Is this even possible?

    TIA!

    Hi Hambone,

See the file associated with post #16 in the referenced thread. That thread is very similar to what you want. I will be updating the file in a couple of days to correct some glaring errors, but the existing file (Sheet Inventory) will give you a sense of what is possible.

    LJMetzger,
Thanks for the redirect. Looks like a very impressive workbook.

My problem is I'm not in any way familiar with VBA, so I would have no idea how to tailor your approach to mine. Also, I have the added restraint of displaying my schedule exactly like was done in my example spreadhseet. So my solution (if even possible) will be very specific.

    Thanks for your help!
