Hi,
I have a problem.. I have a excel file that refreshes a External Data Connection (SQL Server) on file open.
I set it to Non-Background refresh, and I have a big problem now.. It won't stop querying.. won't allow me to do even cancel it... basically I cant use the file again until that Table it's trying to query comes back online(Yes I do mean the table it's querying comes back)... other tables in this server are working fine.. they are updating or something on this particular table soo it's causing them a problem because excel is constantly on "Waiting for query" and me a problem coz I can't even click on it... I don't want this to happen when I release the file to users.
Is there a way to set a timeout?
DRIVER=SQL Server;SERVER=LocalSRV;UID=64_release;Trusted_Connection=Yes;APP=Microsoft Office 2010;WSID=X9930;DATABASE=DB1;
Can I add a connection-timeout to this connection string?
