Run time error ‘32809’: Application-defined or Object-defined error
This pesky error message has been haunting me for almost a week now and cannot seem to figure out what causes this show-stopper. I have done my research about this and did exactly as suggested, and so far I am done with:
- Adjusting the macro security settings
- Enabled the “Trust access to the VBA project object model” option under Developer Macro Settings
- Matching the VBAProject References of a working unit against the faulty unit
The only workaround I haven’t done so far is to reinstall the MSO of the faulty machines.
What really puzzles me is that apart from my boss’ and his boss’ computers, my macro runs seamlessly on everyone. That is why I doubt if the problem is on the program. I created the program using Excel 2013, which all of the file’s recipients are using, including those two who are experiencing the problem. Even both ActiveX and userform buttons are not responding to their clicks!
I did a test where I exported all the modules and userforms and copied all the codes in a fresh Excel workbook on one of the laptops in question. Just like reworking everything, and import all those components. And voila! It worked! But this workaround is definitely not what I am looking for.
Should I take the last resort and ask them to have a fresh copy of their Excel 2013, or is there something I haven’t done yet to resolve this case?
I would appreciate your help guys. Thanks.
