Why does Excel set the focus (Selects) cell AA3 ???

Why is it that when my VBA code executes this line:
ActiveSheet.PROTECT
Why does Excel set the focus (Selects) cell AA3 ???

If the active cell is a cell which is not allowed to be selected Excel finds another cell which may be selected.
Possibly that is the first cell protection allows to select.
