Excel Resources - UserForm vs Non-UserForm

I was adding buttons to my workbook until I got an error telling me there was not enough resources to display correctly. Excel then proceeded to become Cubist Artwork and I had to open task manager to close it. I'd never heard about a UserForm before (i'm new to working with VBA in general). I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me how the resource use would compare if I was to create my workbook within multiple UserForms compared to not using any and having hundreds (probably over a thousand) of AxtiveX Buttons on a few worksheets.

If it makes no difference i'll have to figure something else out.

I prefer UserForms, especially when there is a lot involved. ActiveX is probably not the best option in any case.

Re: Excel Resources - UserForm vs Non-UserForm

It's a document for work, I've been told I must use Excel - even though I'd prefer something like HTML to make it. I'm remaking basically a large questionnaire It contains a few hundred questions and a lot of those questions have multiple choices (both and/or options i.e. either single option or multiple options per question).

There's one section in the questionnaire where there's 4 tables each with up to a possible 25 rows, and each row has approx 15 options to select. Imagine an office had 25 PCs and the questionnaire had to tell you if each PC had a particular piece of hardware or software installed, that's more or less what the tables are like - but the 4 different tables also link together too.

The current form can be manipulated too much by the users responses so I was trying to make something less editable, and giving them less opportunity/need to use text to explain their responses.
Also the current form was created approx 15 years ago, so besides needing to be updated it was originally created to be completed on paper. The people completing it now do so on tablet PCs so I was trying to make it touch-screen friendly. Also some of the users aren't exactly Pros when it comes to technology so I was trying to make it simple and easy to use. Large buttons seemed like the best method to use when taking into account all of this.
