Hi
After replacing my old PC I'm now unable to open some .xlsm files while others work properly.
The following message pops up while I'm trying to open some excel files containing macros:
"We found a problem with some content in file name ..... Do you want us
to recover as much as we can? If you trust the source of this workbook, click Yes"
If I click no, blank sheet appears.
If I click yes, I'm getting the following message:
"Excel was able to open the file by removing or
repairing the unreadable content....Removed Part: /xl/vbaProject.bin part. (Visual Basic for Applications (VBA))"
I tried every solution I could find on this and other forums, but I'm still unable to open those files without excel removing the code.
1. I uninstall/install Office
2. I changed the extension of one the problematic files to zip hoping that
I would be able to copy vbaProject.bin to another .xlsm file in order to extract the code.
Result= same warning.
3. I made sure VBA is installed
4. I tried to repair a file using "Open and Repair"
5. I tried to change excel security settings
6. I tried numerous other things which I can't recall because I've been struggling
with this for over 12 hours now.
I'm running windows 7 32-bit and excel 2013.
