Activate word document from excel, run macro, copy results then activate excel

Hi Everyone, I am hoping someone can help.

I need my macro to activate a word document that is already open, run a macro that is on that word document, copy the results of the macro, then re-activate excel.

I have searched all over the place and tried so many different things but I can not seem to get anything to work! I am not even sure if it is possible!

You can get a reference to an instance of Word, but there's no guarantee it's the correct instance unless there is only 1 instance running...
