How can I customize symbol shortcuts in excel 2007?

Hello,

I'm trying to create a shortcut for the tick mark and X mark but I'm unable to find out how to do that in excel, it was easy in Word as there was a shortcut tab in symbols menu but there's nothing like that in excel..

I searched google for some ideas but none worked for me like this one 'http://www.techrepublic.com/article/make-it-easy-for-users-to-enter-symbols-in-excel-worksheets/' cause I'm unable to copy the symbols as they always pasted as letter (P) but not the symbol I have copied and I can't find out why..

I'm getting this error when I try to run 'INSERT TICK SYMBOL.xlsm'!Module1.INSERTTICK' in marcos and help isn't showing any solutions

choose Trust Center and click on Trust Center Setting,

Great! but although it's not as cool as Word where I could chose any shortcut mix I like (i.e alt+button)
