Is it possible to have an excel document export a formatted word document? I have a sheet that has a dropdown menu of names and then populates a bunch of tables. I'd like to be able to hit a button to then create a word document that has all of the information from the tables formatted in a certain way. I have one example where you can export the data to PDF, but I'd like to be able to type in the document, so it needs to be word.
Any idea if this is even feasible?

Probably... can the Word document be a somewhat fixed format? Just a 'fill-in-the-blanks' type document?
It's relatively easy to create replacement phrases (or bookmarks for that matter), like [First Name][Last name] and push the data to Word.
You can do the same with the assorted Excel data in a tabbed column, or a Word table.
Create a sample Excel and Word template (zip them together) and upload them here and I can help you with that.

OK- I made very simple sample files and attached, I think. Can't seem to zip them together on my work computer.
And where will the Vendor name come from and how does that relate to the data?
Is the table in the Word doc just a pasted Excel table?
The only way to lock down a document from editing it to use formfields, or content controls. You don't offer any sample 'editable' data for me to offer a solutions.
The vendor name in the real file would be a drop down menu that then populates the tables from an API feed. I am just trying to see if its possible to make a button from excel that says something like "export data to word document" and then once you've selected a vendor, it would open a word file with the tables from the excel file pasted as images while maintaining a standard format and layout of the word document. There's no actual drop down menu in the sample because I can't attach the actual file since it has sensitive info.
OIC, then yes, you can do that, however, the question remains about the editable side.
See if this will work.
Rename the docx to a dotx. Site flags it as invalid.
