Using Query Wizard to generate .iqy files

    Hi again,

I'm pretty sure I know what I want, and I'm sure I can do this a lot quicker than manually as now.

In column A will be a list of what should be the .iqy file names, while in column B are the urls for the relevant data. I want to use Query Wizard?/Macro? to go through the urls in column B to save the query, name each file according to column A and change the "Selection =" to 1 from EntirePage. Is this possible?

    Thanks

Probably. Can you provide the working files to test this out?

    1) Master workbook with 3 rows filled out A & B
    2) Copies of the 3 workbooks you created from manually pulling them down.

With that, we can work on a VBA solution and know when we get it right. Then when you expand your MASTER out to many more rows it should keep working.

Test A would be the Master, Queries zip as you would expect.

Test B is where the queries would be connected - if you can auto-generate a single workbook with sheets for each query like that, that would be amazing in itself, but the query generation would be enough itself - the connections in Test B have a refresh setting of "Overwrite existing cells with new data, clear unused cells".

Web Query does not pull in the info from the hidden tables. I'll ping some others more versed in HTML scraping to take a look.

I should say also that what will come out the queries on Test B will not, at this moment, make sense. Only once the game as begun is any data generated, and then the correct table is displayed. My main concern was generating the queries.
