Mark the last three transactions for each customer

I am looking to get the last three transaction for each customer. Assume it would be the Max or Large function, but not sure how to arrange it.

See attached spreadsheet. Column E would have the formula..can be as simple as the number "1" so I can filter it. Any ideas? Thanks.

Give this code a try. At least you won't have to sort your table.

Basically, I generate a reference that only contains the top 3 most recent items for each customer and then do a match/index to mark the transaction.

Go with scottiex's solution. I over analyzed the problem.
