Finding sum of invoices for Total Amount received.

Dears,

This issue made me uneasy since 3 years, it might be easy but I don't know how to figure it out.

I have 25 invoice number and its amount. I received payments from clients, however they are not sending the breakup, invoices.
So I find difficult to get things done.

example:
Inv No. 2578 Amount USD. 75800.00
Inv No. 3758 Amount USD. 25700.00
Inv No. 1758 Amount USD. 1570.00
Inv No. 235 Amount USD. 235700.00

Now I get payment for USD 27270.00

Now I need find out for how many invoices for the amount USD 27270.00 is received. Like wise I have hundred of invoices to find.

Is there any VBA to find random numbers total exactly.

Your help will be very much useful.

Although I'm not 100% sure, I believe Solver can be used for this.

I've tried to use it but since I had to many values duplicate, it was no good for my cases.

Try to search for Solver sum combinations since unfortunately it's a tool I don't fully dominate and so wouldn't be able to help if anything went wrong.

As Rui said Solver can be used for this but if you have duplicates Solver can not tell you which duplicate value is the "right" one. Then there is always the possibility that there may be more invoice combinations that may add up to the total amount and again which one is the one you are looking for?

And even if there are more possible combinations Solver will only find one as long as the parameters are not changed. So in your example a Solver solution could look like this:

Perhaps more useful is the macro that Tushar Metha wrote, this will find all possible combinations of numbers that adds up to a given total.
