Remove duplicates from table by only one column

Hi,

Is there a way to make a macro that removes duplicates from any table, based on a single column? Say that the column header is "MyColumn". Basically what I do right now is drill into a bunch of pivots all the time and end up removing duplicates to get isolated values for "MyColumn". I still want that message to pop up that says "10 duplicate values removed; 5 values still remain" or whatever it says.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi,
You said that now you use pivots to "remove duplicates", does this mean that there is need to sum some values?
Please attach small sample file with some dummy data with duplicates and manually make a table you wish to get.

I think I was able to upload an attachment. So on Sheet4 there is a pivot that has Count of MyColumn. What I end up having to do all the time is drill into the pivot and remove duplicates from the drill-down data to get count of unique values. The answer I really want is 3, but count gives me 7.

Maybe I don't even need a macro for this? I am essentially looking for count of unique values.
