Need formula to calculate total after new shipment date

Hi,

Hope I'm as clear as possible on my description of the issue. I have an excel data record as attached. I need a total sum formula to be calculated before every new shipment date and to be input on column I (Total on shipment) on the same row as the last shipment date. For example, after C7 is a new shipment date which is 20 jan 17. So I will need a total sum formula to calculate the total no of entries (which will be "6") to be in put on cell I7 only. Similarly after a new shipment date has been logged in, the total should be tabulated and input on column I. I hope I can get some help here. Thanks in advance.

I am just taking a guess. In I2, enter this formula =IF(C2=C3,"",COUNTIF($C$2:C2,C2)) and fill the formula down. Make sure you format your column to number instead of date.
