    Conditional formatting formula

    Hello my Excel friends,
I'd greatly appreciate your assistance resolving this. I've tried so many different ways . . .
I am determining a range of time and need the CF (Conditional Formatting) to make the cell red if a range is exceeded.

I've put the 0:09 in single quotes, double quotes, no luck.
Thanks in advance for your wise suggestions.

    Re: Conditional formatting formula

Using the values and formulas in the cells you specify, the result in C1 is 0:00 which is not greater than 0:09.

    Re: Conditional formatting formula

Sorry for the typo in the post. I've corrected it. I didn't make the same mistake on the spreadsheet. The result shows 0:19, but NOT in Red.
    Thanks

    Re: Conditional formatting formula

Ok, I am having the same issue with the IF formula, not sure why. Have you tried the conditional formatting menu in the home tab and selecting Highlight cell rules then select Greater than? It works that way.

    Re: Conditional formatting formula

Is that 9 minutes or 9 seconds?

    =C1>timevalue("00:09:00")
    0r
    =C1>TIMEVALUE("00:00:09")
