Drop Down List to populate multiple values in multiple cells

How do I have a drop down list (already created using data validation) to create multiple values to automatically populate in multiple cells? For example:

Drop down lists consists of series of door sizes: 10x10, 12x10, etc.

If I click on 12x10 I want it to populate a 1 (in A15), 13 (in A18), 1 (C15), etc. etc. The cells/qtys would be different for each item chosen.
    CAN THIS BE DONE?????

    Thank you for any help.

    Perhaps.

    1) List of details for each size.
    2) Function like VLookUp.

Re: Drop Down List to populate multiple values in multiple cells

You need to create a lookup table with all the various data that need returning, and then you can apply a formula to work with the choice made in the drop-down box.

Will you please attach a sample Excel workbook?

    1. Make sure that your sample data are REPRESENTATIVE of your real data. The use of unrepresentative data is very frustrating and can lead to long delays in reaching a solution.

    2. Make sure that your desired solution is also shown (mock up the results manually).

    3. Make sure that all confidential data is removed or replaced with dummy data first (e.g. names, addresses, E-mails, etc.).

    4. Try to avoid using merged cells as they cause lots of problems.

Unfortunately the attachment icon doesn't work at the moment, so to attach an Excel file you have to do the following: just before posting, scroll down to Go Advanced and then scroll down to Manage Attachments. Now follow the instructions at the top of that screen.

Please pay particular attention to point 2 (above): without an idea of your intended outcomes, it is often very difficult to offer appropriate advice.

Re: Drop Down List to populate multiple values in multiple cells

I have attached the file with no confidential info. This is my actual spreadsheet so this is real.

I think I have figured it out how to do it except that now I am getting #n/a error with the vlookup and can't figure out why.
