'Clear' parts of form with a drop-down selection (Novice to VBA)

    Hi All,

    See attached.

I am learning on-the-fly creating a form (Sheet 1) using dynamic lists, dependent drop-downs and some VLOOKUP functions. Some information on the form is manual-entry, too. One of my objectives is to have this form revert to a clean-state, that is to clear any cells intended for a manual entry, drop-down list, or self-populating VLOOKUP when a "master drop-down list" choice is made. This master drop-down is "Form Type" located at the top right of the form. When "New Product" is selected from drop-down, the form should revert to how it appears from a fresh file Open.

Is this easily done? Seeking code and description of lines for understanding or any advice you may have.

"Clear" as used above should be defined; Manual-entry cells would "clear," dependent drop-downs would revert to "Choose..." (the top choice on all lists), and this would then cause all VLOOKUPS to "N/A." I do not want to "clear" formulas or drop down choices completely, rendering them useless.

Thank you in advance! I am enjoying this problem-solving exercise of learning VBA.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Sounds straightforward enough. However, there is no attachment.

(How to) Upload a Workbook directly to the Forum
(please do not post pictures or links to worksheets)
    • Click Advanced next to Quick Post button at the bottom right of the editor box.
    • Scroll down until you see "Manage Attachments",
    • Click the "Choose" button at the upper left (upload from your computer).
    • Select your file, click "open", click "upload"
    • Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
    • Close the Attachment Manager window.
    • Click "Submit Reply"
Note: Please do not attach password protected workbooks/worksheets
Ensure to disable any Workbook Open/Autorun macros before attaching!

Excellent! I tried this method twice last night on two different browsers to no avail.
