Merging duplicate cells along a row

    Hi folks,

I am trying to write a macro that would dynamically merge and unmerge values along a row based on duplicate values. The row range is defined. For example, if the row range is 10 columns long, you might have the values a,a,a,b,b,c,d,d,e,e hence you will when merged have a,b,c,d,e sized proportionately. The source for the data will be a replica row higher up in the worksheet. When the source row changes to a different set of values, the secondary row should be able to unmerge and re-merge based on the new values.

Can any of you wizards provide a solution?

    Many thanks in advance!

    Naz

I can't help with the VBA, but from your description, the idea seems flawed: the replica row will be merged in the same way, so how will different values be entered there without first unmerging?

Hi Ali, thanks for your response. The primary range will remain de-merged. It is the secondary row which will merge and un-merge and re-merge based on the values of the primary row. I hope that makes it clearer.
