Sometimes it opens it as intended but when I close outlook and try to reopen it (with Shell), it gets stuck on "loading profiles". After I kill it, and try to run Shell code again, the outlook starts but prompts with message "Do you want to open Outlook in safe mode?". Pressing yes or no will run the app correctly.
When I use mouse to open the file, it always starts correctly without any messages.

Do you specifically want to use Shell, or do you just want to open and control Outlook? You'd probably be better off using the Outlook object model.

Actually I want to check if outlook is open or not in order to open it. It work fine but have an issue with starting it with simple shell command.

    Hi nosense,

I'm with Trevor on this one. Try the following code based on the Reference from Ron de Bruin above. It works whether Outlook is Open or Outlook is closed.
