Highlight specific cells if cell contains text or numbers

    Hi,

I tried to do this with VBA but with no luck.

I have cells that I would like to be highlited if the cells contains text and also if it contains text and numbers.
The cells that need to be highlited are AP13, AP29, AP44, AP59.

Thanks in advance for any help.
    B.

So, if those cells are not blank you want them to be highlighted?

You can use conditional formatting (CF) for that. Select cell AP13, then hold down the CTRL key and click on the other cells so that they are all selected and you can do the operation in one go. Click on CF | New Rule | Use a formula... , then enter this formula in the dialogue box:

    =AP13<>""

Click on the Format button | Fill tab and choose the colour that you want to use, then click OK twice to exit the dialogue box.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete

I think it is unclear if you want 2 formats or 1. And what the cell can contain eg is text and numbers a combination of text and numbers eg AB123 or AB 123 etc, or just a number or text
