How to programmatically create a macro button usinf VBA

I want to be able to create a button that will be associated within an add-in I have written in VBA.

Using the macro recorder, you can get somewhat of an idea what the code would look like.

I tried that, but it didn't show anything. I started the recorder, customize QAT, selected macros and selected an existing one to add to the toolbar. The macro recording was empty. Is there something I am doing incorrectly?

You originally said you wanted to create a button, you did not say you wanted to add a button to a toolbar.
