Not sure TBH whether this belongs here or in EXCEL GENERAL. It's a bit like asking how you hold the Janet and John book before learning how to read! But this is driving me mad.
I recently moved to a new computer and moved to Office 365 for Business from 365 Professional Plus (latest versions).
On my old machine (still running), if I open the VBA editor in Excel the windows are neatly arranged and docked together - Project Explorer and Properties windows on the left filling about one quarter of the screen width and the code window filling the remainder. Neat tidy and everything easily accessible.
On my new computer every window - including FIFTEEN modules that are part of PERSONAL.XLSB - open up separately - i.e. floating. If I expand and then collapse the PERSONAL.XLSB VBA Project in the project explorer that quickly gets rid of all 15 of the code windows for the PERSONAL modules - so I can cope with that. It would be much nicer if these didn't open at all, but I presume that's not doable!
My much greater aggravation is to get the Project explorer and the Properties Windows to remain on the left side docked together. If I check the boxes for docking these windows in TOOLS|OPTIONS (or use right click) the Project Explorer window DISAPPEARS COMPLETELY! WINDOWS|CASCADE won't bring it back. The Properties window remains but I can only dock it to the top of the screen and then it sits across the entire width. The only way to get back the Project explorer is to uncheck docking in TOOLS|OPTIONS. It is as if this window moves somewhere off the monitor!
So I am left with the only option of undocking both boxes and arranging them as floaters on the left side. I have followed several suggested procedures for arranging these windows online but just cannot solve it. Anyone any ideas at all?
Thanks![]()
