Automate fill in of values in 1 column based on data from other columns

    Hello,

I am not sure if what I am attempting to accomplish can be done via script / macro or formula.

I manually create an excel file that consists of configurable product and simple products for an ecommerce website.

What I am trying to do is fill in column B "parent_sku" from "sku" column WHEN "product_type" is simple.

Break should happen and new config value should be taken when there is a next configurable sku.

Please see an attached excel file that indicates how we do it manually.

Try this in B3 as an array formula (use control + shift + enter) then drag down

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately it did not work. We need the formula to lookup configurable value from "Product_type" until the next value with configurable.

If you want it to do something else then it might assist if you provide an example of what it should look like

It worked! I guess I was not properly dragging it down initially. Thank you for taking your time by filling out my example.
