VBA: Master sheet to control only basic structure of slave sheets

I have a Master worksheet (template) that contain only one column (common to all sheets) and one row (Row 1 headings). The sheet is otherwise unpopulated of data, please see worksheet attached.

I wish to use this Template to control the structure of all the 'slave' sheets. That is to say if a column / row is added to the master it will add the same column / row including heading to all the 100's of slave sheets.

On the slave sheets I can populate all the other data specific to it.

I have been around the internet and have not found a suitable solution. Basic linking of cells does not work as it does not allow adding/deleting or rows.

I don't wish to use the 'select all' sheets and add row as, with 100's of sheets, I have found it is too easy to make mistakes with hidden sheets etc. and mess up a lot.

    Grateful for any input

What you are describing may be possible with VBA, but certainly not with formulae, so I am going to move this to the VBA section for you.

Are you open to suggestions about a different approach to your data structuring? Having 100s of slave sheets is never going to be the best working practice, even if you can do what you want here. What is the purpose of the 100s of slave sheets? Why does the data need to be separated in this way?

NB 1041 views of this thread and no help offered yet suggests that what we are looking at here may be a minefield!

Which version of Excel are you using? Please update your profile - it says 1 at the moment, which clearly isn't correct!

Re: VBA: Master sheet to control only basic structure of slave sheets

    Thanks for your input AliGW.

We have many different products which have a common variable which is length (config_length column in previous attached sheet). Over time time new additions, as yet unknown, are added to config_length (a new row in the spreadsheet). Rather than have to go through hundreds of sheets and add new lengths we want to add to the master and have cascaded to the slave sheets, which themselves increase in number over time.

Each product has to be on its own slave sheet - the slave sheets are imported into an e-commerce platform to update things such as product quantity and price, individual to the specific product.

I am of course open to suggestions, though I find having a product per sheet is easy to manage with each separate tab and not unwieldy. In actual fact each sheet has a number of sub products already which comprises a few hundred rows per sheet.

    Our main aim;

    1. Be able to add a new row with 1 cell populated to the master sheet, and have the same row and cell added to all slave sheets.

    2. Occasional but rarely we wish to be able to add a new column to the master sheet with the top cell populated (heading) and have same row added to the slave sheets.

    3. Deleting of rows / columns is less important but would be an added bonus if feasible.

    Thanks.
