    ActiveX Controls Unreadable

    Greetings all,

Apologies if this has been posted before but I've had a look and could not find it.

Whenever I create an ActiveX Control item the text is always unreadable and cramped by default. I have not been able to solve this by going through the properties and was wondering if anyone knew why this would be happening. The Form Controls all look normal - it's only the ActiveX ones that are an issue. There is an image below which shows the properties and the ActiveX Control as soon as it is created.

    Many Thanks.

What is the text in that button? Is there perhaps a picture behind the text.

It's also interesting, but maybe not relevant that when I create exactly the same button in 365 I see two additional properties for:

    Picture (None)
    Picture Position(7 - fmPicture......

    See attached picture.Screenshot 2021-02-27 110638.jpg

    Re: ActiveX Controls Unreadable

    Hi Richard,

Thank you for your reply - there is no image behind the command button - I just have the gridlines turned off.
The text is the default text of "CommandButton1".
I have the same properties, only I sorted them by Categorized as opposed to Alphabetic so it's in a different order (Mine shows at the bottom)

I have made no changes to the button at all, this is exactly how it appeared the moment it was created.

If I add three spaces between all of the characters it displays as below. It's almost as if it's collapsing all of the characters without any spacing. The text also looks very bizzare.

    Thanks.

Are you able to upload the workbook with the button in place?

Hi, I just downloaded your file, when I opend it, it did look like the image you showed us, but as soon as I clicked on "allow editing" it reverted to a normal button with a normal caption.

    Re: ActiveX Controls Unreadable

You’d be a lot better off just using a forms button rather than activex, all activex controls on worksheets are best avoided
