    Schedule Generator

I'm in a sports league with 30 teams that will play for 19 weeks. I'd like to set up a schedule where each team plays each team in their own conference once. And also plays once against 5 teams of one division in the other conference. Is there something that can help me?

The layout of the League is as such: 2 Conferences, 3 Divisions in each Conference:

    Conference 1

    Division 1

    Team 1
    Team 2
    Team 3
    Team 4
    Team 5

    Division 2

    Team 6
    Team 7
    Team 8
    Team 9
    Team 10

    Division 3

    Team 11
    Team 12
    Team 13
    Team 14
    Team 15

    Conference 2

    Division 4

    Team 16
    Team 17
    Team 18
    Team 19
    Team 20

    Division 5

    Team 21
    Team 22
    Team 23
    Team 24
    Team 25

    Division 6

    Team 26
    Team 27
    Team 28
    Team 29
    Team 30

    Re: Schedule Generator

    Maybe this will help.
I worked on modifying a league scheduler for another user which seems somewhat similar to what you want.
The actual scheduler only works for games within conferences so you will need to schedule inter conference games manually.
One inter conference game may be scheduled in the conference BYE week and the other four in weeks 16:19
To avoid double scheduling I suggest that you only put the inter conference games on the conference 1 sheet.
Note that I scheduled the inter conference games between divisions 1 and 4, indicated by typing in lower case.
The red highlighting in rows 57:75 of the conference sheets indicates that the team already has a game scheduled for that week although it isn't displayed in the team's column because it is displayed in the opponent's column.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Consider taking the time to add to the reputation of everybody that has taken the time to respond to your query.

    Re: Schedule Generator

Is it possible for the interconference matchups to have the divisions specifically scheduled against a particular opposing division for the 5 game match up? Or do they still manually need to be created?

    I was looking at

    Division 1 vs Division 6
    Division 2 vs Division 4
    Division 3 vs Division 5

    Thank you

    Re: Schedule Generator

I can't think of a way to use a formula to schedule the interconference games, but that isn't to say that someone else might not be able to come up with a way.
It did occur to me that in order to get the bye weeks to align that the division 1 teams would need to be listed last in cells AL2:AL16 on the Conference 1 sheet.
I have scheduled division 2 vs division 4 and teams 1 and 11 against their interconference opponents so that you might get a better idea of what I did.

    Re: Schedule Generator

I was able to create the schedule I was looking for with the manual inputs

If I could ask one more favour. We rotate what divisions we play every year for inter conference games.

Could you run the schedule with Division 3 playing Division 4 in the interconference games?

I appreciate your help. Thank you.

    Re: Schedule Generator

In order to make the BYE's align I will also need to know the other interconference pairings.

    Re: Schedule Generator

In the attached file divisions 3 and 4 are scheduled for interconference games and division 1 (teams 1:5) and division 5 (teams 21:25) have the same bye weeks as well as divisions 2 and 6.
