Automate budgeting workbook

Is it possible to automate a budget file using macro? If it is, it is worth it?

    Short answer - probably, yes.

    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)

Does it save time? I need to input new data each month and wanted to see if using macro is better than setting up a summary page with all the formulas linked.

Depends entirely on what you are working with, and what you expect as an outcome.

    Re: Automate budgeting workbook

I have a bunch of tabs that feeds in data from a database server. I use those tabs that’ll be used in formulas in the summary tab. Essentially, I have static data, which is the budget amounts, and then the data that is calculated is the actual. Then there is a bunch of columns on the right end of the summary tab that does it’s calculations.
