Question unlock cells when previous cells are filled

    Hello,
I have an excel file where I want the user to fill the data compeletely and in the seqeunce of order. So far, I tried the VBA with sheet protect and unprotect, data validation using logical countif function. I encounter problems with the file file range method object failed or the excel file closes automatically. I have attached an example for my problem. I cannot decide whether to go with vba or data validation and if vba, go with sheet protect/ unprotect function.
I am using excel from Microsoft365.

    Thank you

You forgot to attach the file - see yellow banner at the top of the forum.

Be sure to manually add the results you expect to see and identify the results cells and the data cells

    Hi there,

I have created an example on the attached - it is a little rough round the edges but you get the idea.

    Hope this helps

    Thanks,

Unfortunately that doesn't help me a lot.

Please clearly explain which cells you want the user to complete. If the sequence is important then specify that too but it may not matter as long as all cells are completed at the end.

Then tell me what you expect as a result. It seems you want some cells locked / protected so be quite clear which ones and if there are conditions that control that process.

Incidentally I note you are using merged cells. For any serious application, particularly one involving macros you're better advised to avoid them like the plague (or covid). Most of us do since they just cause too many problems.

The little rough round the edges have definitely helped me. Please allow me some time to process on it. I will update the final version very soon.

Re: unlock cells when previous cells are filled

okay, Hi again. Here is an update. So far, i have done changes.
I still want to improve it but, I believe there are still some errors.
I further want to ensure that after a cell is filled the next cell selection should be predefined and a problem with checkbox still exists. I dont know yet but I am still working on this.
    Here si a sample attached.
    Thank you.
