    Specific Chainage Cordinate

    Dear Experts,

Attached herewith is an Excel sheet containing line coordinates and chainages. I am seeking specific chainage coordinates.

For reference, I have manually entered chainage coordinates after the table. I am in need of such results generated through Excel formulas or VBA.

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Re: Specific Chainage Cordinate

While line chainage is pretty obvious - it is just a distance between neighbouring points, what do you mean by specific chainage - I thought (after first pair of points that it is distance to the point located in the same direction as next point but distant at specific cjhainage, not by line chaineage.

If it would be like that, then such formula copied right and down would do (and indeed for first row the results are as expected):

    Re: Specific Chainage Cordinate

    thank you @kaper

    for explanation

The first point chainage is on 0.0m the 2nd point is on 10m.

I have the coordinates of 1st point and second point.

Now I want the coordinates of point on 5m.

    How to calculate it

    Re: Specific Chainage Cordinate

Distance (5m) is one parameter the second is a direction. And the third thing to know - from which point.

Or to look at it fronm the other side - how did you calculated L5 and M5 values - 552.1475 and 475.5083 resp.

EDIT: and don't skip answer by @windknife above - I've not checked it (answer appeared while I was writing this post), but may be that's what you look for?

    Re: Specific Chainage Cordinate

It is linear line the first point chainage 0m is start chainage. for the all the point and point no 2 is direction. the coordinate for chainage 5m is from chainage 0 that's means point no.1

    Thank you, @windknife.

I appreciate that your formula is working and providing the correct result.

If i dont have line chianage, is it still possible to obtain the desired result?

Thank you for your continued assistance.

Why do you keep changing the criteria? Are there any other changes you want to make? Please give ALL requirements at the start in future.

    Re: Specific Chainage Cordinate

If you don't have O365, a helper (line chianage) is good for your question.
