How to make Excel with Macros or Factions open Faster

It seems to be a very strange problem . I have a file that i open every day in my work with macros and factions . It takes around 10 sec to open . I use windows 11 and office 2024 . It used to open fast but after a format and update of the office the file takes for ever to open . In my home computer 2x ages. In older excel 2021 open again in 10 sec . How can i fix this . I didnt change anything to excel and the file . What can i do. Please help and thanks in advance. Very happy to be here

Re: How to make Excel with Macros or Factions open Faster

    Welcome to the forum.

How long is a peice of string???

You give us no clue as to the nature of your macros or 'factions' (did you mean formulae?), so it's practically impossible to advise.

    Some things to consider:

    1. Are you using full column references in your formulae (e.g. A:A)? If so, limit them - they are rarely necessary.
    2. Are you using a lot of conditional formatting? This can slow a workbook down.
    3. Are you using volatile functions (e.g. OFFSET, INDIRECT)?
    4. What are your macros doing and are any of them set to run when you open the workbook? Try disabling them, if so, by way of a test.
    5. Do you have queries that are set to refresh when the workbook opens? Again, if so, try disabling them to test their effect.
