Hello,
Is there an easy way to find the number of a letter in the alphabet; e.g.
that "E" is the fifth letter?
Thanks.

=CODE(UPPER("E"))-64
I stuck the UPPER in there in case you use a formula to derive E, or a cell

If your letter's in A1 then you could use
=COLUMN(INDIRECT(A1&1))
