IF equation question

Hi all,

I have an excel spread sheet that lists peoples names, address, year built of home and square footage.

I need an equation that basically says:
If the square footage of home is less than 3,999 then times the square footage by .275. If the square footage is greater than 4000 then times the number by .315.

I have no idea how to do this, I need help!

Assuming Footage is in A2 of the cell

To break down the formula
Criteria, true, false

So the criteria is that the footage is under 4000
If it's under 4000, it will take that cell, multiply it by .275, and that value will be in this cell
If it's not under 4000, it will take that cell, multiply it by .315, and that value will be in this cell.
