    [Solved] Menu Bar/Navigation

Hope this the correct forum, if not please move to the appropriate category.

I have a workbook with multiple sheets. Is there a tool that creates a menu bar or code that I can add that would support navigation?

My goal is to have something with approximately 4 options (buttons?). They would link to 4 different sheets that serve as indexes within the workbook.

I know I can add a control like a button to a given sheet that would take the user to given sheet when clicked, but can I make the button 'float' above all the sheets, or add to a menu bar, or something? I just don't want to have to add the button to every sheet in the workbook.

I am looking for something simple/easy, and am not looking for anybody to do the work. I just have no idea on how to approach the problem.

    Thanks.

Thanks for the link. Sounds like what I need, but neither link for the Table of Contents nor the Navigation Toolbar work. i.e. I can't download the tools/add-ins.

I recently moved servers, but I was told this would not affect the links.

Check later & I'll fix them

something still not quite right maybe.

when i download the nav toolbar, it says there should be 2 files, but there's only 1 called navigator.xla and where i double click it crashes.

I've uploaded a different file, there's the addin and a install 7 uninstall workbook. Doubleclicking the .xla will install temporarily, the install workbook will install it so that it is always available.

    Re: Menu Bar/Navigation

Does this work with Excel 2007?

I downloaded the Navigator.zip. I tried opening the XLS in the zip file, but Excel encountered an error and closed. I tried double clicking the XLA file, but I got the same results. I copied the XLA file to the directory where Excel seems to want add-ins. I see 'navigator' under Office Button->Excel Options->Add-ins.

    A) Am I experiencing a problem?
    B) How do I get/see the tool bar? NOTE: I figured out how to 'add' the add-in by selecting manage add-ins. However, it still causes Excel to crash.

    Thanks.

I haven't tested this in Excel 2007, but you will probably find the ToolBar in the Addins Tab of the Ribbon, that's where Excel 2007 dumps addin menus & toolbars.

I can't get yours to work. I don't know why. I was able to get this one to work though.

    Office Diagnostics found no errors.

    Re: Menu Bar/Navigation

This one will work in 2007, the navigator isin the addins tab

It will also now self install if required.

It will refresh when changing workbooks, click the refresh button when adding or deleting sheets.

I'm working on one that will be better for 2007
