    Windows 7 Migration

We are due to finally get Windows 7 and Office Pro 2010 next week.

I have added personalised macro menus in Windows XP can anyone advise if this can be migrated please along with the macros?

It's the .xlb file which stores the menus.

In addition will Windows 7 run the macros the same as XP, without me having to change them?

    Many Thanks

You need not to worry because, you are upgrading your Microsoft Office from 2003 to 2010 Professional and as far as I know it will work. All the files will work in Windows 7 with 2010 Pro office. So you can go ahead and work on the previous files.

    Thanks kishoremcp,

I played around with this for ages last night and finally imported the Personal.xls workbook, but the customised menus in the .xlb file are a different matter.

In XP I would have used Tools Options Customise and added a Menu Item to which I would have attached a macro.

In Office 2010 it seems that you have to add a tab by selecting Tools Options and Customise ribbon.

You then add an a new menu item and then a new group and you attach your macros to the group.

Then when I switched back to the ribbon I had a new tab and on the ribbon for that tab I had 17 macros all for one job that I have to do. All good so far.

So I added a second group for another job that I do and added 11 macros.

When I switched back to the ribbon the 17 macros on the first group had been condensed down to a symbol so I couldn't see the description, then there was a faint line down the ribbon and then there was the second group also condensed down to a symbol. Which to be honest useless.

Does this mean I have to create a new tab for every set of macros and that there is no drop down function?

I also read a post which suggested that you could export your old toolbars as an add in and import them into Office 2010 is this true and does anyone know how to do it?
