pasting text from notepad not appearing in excel

Hi,

I have a program that extracts variable names from text that I paste into excel from various .txt files. The macro works fine, but I am noticing that certain text that ends with [ "] is not being pasted into excel correctly. For instance, the following lines do not paste correctly into excel.

748 13: D7G.rcad5 "Hat 4 Box: xxxxxx x2 "
749 13: D7G.rcad6 "Hat 4 Box: xxxx 2 xxx "
750 13: D7G.rcad7 "Hat 4 Box: xxxxxxxx xxx "

It seems to have something to do with the tab" at the end of the line (If I delete the tab everything pastes OK into excel). Are there settings in excel I can change so that this pastes accurately?

Something is odd with how this posted, if you highlight the three row example, paste it into notepad, then paste it into excel you will see my problem

Right, did you try pasting it into notepad, then into excel? that seems to show the problem. There isn't any code for this, I am manually pasting text from notepad into excel.
