    Alert when opening a workbook

    Hi All - how can I get an alert to pop up when an excel file is opened that says "Please only input information into shaded cells"

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks Holger - is this right? I added it to my existing recorded macro, and it does not pop up when i open the workbook and enable macros?

    Hi, mrr2,

    is the code located in ThisWorkbook? In any other module the event will not get fired.
