    Birthday reminder

    Hey guys
    I trust you guys will be able to help me.
    I want to write a program in excel that will give me a summary of birthdays.
    1. Who's birthdays are coming up this month
    2. Who's birthdays are next week
    3. Who's birthdays are this week
    4. Who's birthdays are today.

    The information i will be working with sits in a table. I've basically got it to a point where i have 4 columns, for the 4 summaries, showing numerically who fits into the condition of birthday being this month, next week, this week, etc. Starting from 1 and working up.
    So what i need is to have the details of the individuals on a new sheet according to the summary.
    I hope this is clear
    Here is what i have so far. I don't like working extra hard. So it needs to be automated so i don't have to "do stuff" all the time.
    Thanks

    Re: Birthday reminder

    "I don't like working extra hard".

    So you'll pass it on to other people to do, who may not lack that particular quality? And none of whom get paid for all the 'extra hard' work they do on this forum on top of their already hard day jobs?

    @XOR LX

    That seemed unnecessarily bitter.

    I don't mind helping and wouldn't try to create a solution that would ask the user to take more action than was is required to complete the task manually (the root of automation...).

    I'm a continuous improvement professional, I don't see not liking to work extra hard as lacking a quality, but the foresight to do it smarter.
    Thanks,
    Solus

    "I don't like working hard"
    Hey. Forgive my lack of appropriate phrasing. The intention behind that comment was the motivation of the programs purpose. I don't want the program itself to create extra work for me. With that being said, working hard in the beginning is what i'm all about, then the program works for me.
    Sorry about that. ;-)

    @Desciplejustin

    No. XeRo Solus was right. It's I who should apologise. Tired today, and I misread your comment on top of that.

    Let me take a look and see if I can help.

    Re: Birthday reminder

    Hi,

    Have a look at the attached. Couldn't find the Department data in your source table, but the Lookup will be similar to that for Name once you've got it.

    Extend the formulas down if you end up with a case of more than five matches.

    Hope that helps.
